The Reason

I am 31 years of age and live just outside Newcastle in the north east of England. As you've probably guessed my real name is not Isaac Newton. That name really belongs to one of the greatest minds that has ever lived. The inspiration was taken from the novel 'Quicksilver' by 'Neal Stephenson'. Everyone should attempt to read it. Urban Exploration began for me at an early age, Exploring abandoned buildings with my brother (aeinstein). It all started with a disused detention centre near to my home. Unfortunately, I don't think any pictures remain of these formative steps into UE and the detention centre has long been re-generated, however, the ethics were already in place. Break nothing, leave nothing, and take only memories away. Now with the developement of the digital age of photography, documenting these remarkable buildings has become so much easier. This webpage is powered by Jack Daniels, NOFX, Massive attack, The cosmic twister and Amos the loon. I have to thank my bro and Partner In Grime(or PIG for short!)aeinstein., Also Chas 'go and play down the detention centre if you're bored' Thomason., The lads at denmark plumbing for some amazing U-bend action., All the people I've explored with, past and future, and lastly anyone who's spent half an hour crouched down behind a door or round some hidden corner, either winded or scared due to some unfortunate turn of events!!

i concur!
agree with all of the above. inewton has provided me with some of the best laughs, (and biggest frights) of my relatively short existence. so here's to more of the same, and admitting when you genuinely are scared!

excellent site
What great photo`s! Think I might have to take a trip to St. Mary`s Hospital, it looks amazing. Just started urban exploring, going down the Byker Cully Tunnel, bit creepy, but well worth a look if you haven`t been already.

????pic
Hi, you have a pic on pg 3 of photos with ???? next to it. I can tell you that what you are looking at is a pottery kiln for firing clay pots! I know this for a fact cos I used to work there between 78 - 87 and would love to go back for a visit.
